Postage and packing
Unless stated otherwise, all items are shipped Royal Mail 1st Class. Shipping is included in the purchase price. If you require your item urgently please select UK Special Delivery. Special Delivery may not be available at all times; if we are unable to guarantee daily posting due to school holidays, family illness etc. it will not be available as an option on checkout.

Additional Shipping Charges

UK Special Delivery: £5.00 (24 to 48 hour delivery, excludes weekends and bank holidays)
European Airmail: £7.00 (3 to 4 week delivery)
Other International Airmail (excluding US & Canada): £15.00 (3 to 6 week delivery)
Japan Airmail Courier: £20.00 (3 to 6 week delivery)

Shipping via courier (DHL, UPS and TNT) is available on application and priced by weight/location. Please ask before ordering if you would like this service and we will offer you a quote. Shipping will in this case be billed separately to your order.

We regret that we cannot ship to the US and Canada due to insurance restrictions. Please note that in the case of returns and exchanges that these additional shipping charges are non-refundable.

Returns and Exchanges

Should you decide you do not wish to keep an item purchased from us, we are happy to accept refunds provided they are returned to us within 28 days and in saleable condition with all packaging and instructions intact. Should the item show signs of wear we may at our discretion offer a part refund. This does not affect your statutory rights. All items must be returned in their original packaging and in new unworn condition for a full refund. Return postage costs will be reimbursed in cases of return due to faulty items only. We strongly advise that any returns are sent to us via Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery, as we cannot be held liable for articles lost in transit. Faulty or damaged goods must be returned to us within 14 days of receipt. In the case of damage in transit, please retain all packaging to enable us to claim from the postal service.

We do ask that if you try a sling on and it doesn’t fit that you repackage it immediately to avoid soiling or damage. Please package your items as carefully as possible, including all instructions and packaging and return to us including a returns slip which we will send you via email.

Should you wish to exchange your purchase for a different size, colour or model we are happy to do so providing the item is in ‘as new’ condition complete with all packaging and instructions. Please email us for a returns form which should be returned to us indicating clearly what you wish to exchange your item for. Exchanges are subject to a £3 postage surcharge which will be charged to your account. If we have sent you an item in error and it needs to be exchanged we will cover postage costs both ways. All exchanges must be received back to us within 28 days of purchase or your due date if your baby is not yet born.

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. Please note all prices quoted include postage within the UK, unless otherwise stated.

Ethical Statement

We aim at all times to treat our customers and suppliers with the highest ethical standards. We choose to only work with companies whose ethical standards in terms of both manufacturing and business practice are fair, honest and in keeping with our beliefs. We predominantly work with smaller businesses and actively choose to support family-run companies. We endeavour at all times to minimise the environmental impact of our business.

Payment

Payment can be made via the following methods:

Please note that your items will be dispatched as soon as we receive cleared payment. In the case of special order items, payment must be made before we place the order with our suppliers.

Special Order Items

We are happy to order in items from our suppliers that we do not usually stock. There is a Special Order page for Didymos slings which is automated through the website; all other slings must be ordered via email. Please note that for purpose of returns and cancellations these items are treated as ‘custom’ orders and that once ordered you are committed to the purchase.

Delivery Information

We aim to dispatch all orders within 5 working days of receiving payment. If your order will be delayed for any reason we will contact you and refund payment should you wish. Special order items that need to be obtained from our suppliers will take longer to dispatch; we will keep you notified of estimated delivery times. If you require your item urgently please email us prior to ordering so that we can confirm delivery times. Purchase of Special Delivery is not a guarantee of next day delivery although we endeavour to achieve this if your order is placed before 11.30am. Normal delivery times are within 15 working days for standard delivery (Royal Mail 1st Class), 2 working days for Special Delivery and up to 4 weeks for Airmail. If your item has not arrived within this time frame please contact your local sorting office in the first instance as they may be holding your item for you; if it has not arrived with them please contact us for a replacement.

Some items are shipped directly from our suppliers, either by Royal Mail 1st Class or courier. We will advise you if there will be a delay of more than 5 working days in dispatching your item.

Cancellation

You have the right to cancel your order starting from the time you place the order and ending on the expiry of 7 working days starting from the day after the goods have been received, according to the Regulations set down by the EU Distance Selling Directive 97/7. Please notify us of your intentions and return the goods within the 7-day cooling-off period. The goods must be unused and unwashed or it will be deemed that you have accepted them.

After-Sales Support

Big Mama Slings offers a full after-sale support service, which continues indefinitely. We will help you choose your sling if you are undecided and are available via email and telephone after you have purchased your sling to provide you with any help you need.

Privacy Policy

It is our policy never to sell or pass on your personal details to any other organisation, this includes your name, postal or e-mail addresses and the details submitted on the order form. The information on the order form is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Important Safety Information

Please use your common sense when using a sling or carrier. Do not undertake any activities such as, but not limited to, riding or cycling where you may fall over while carrying your child in a sling/carrier. Do not cook or undertake any activities where your child is exposed to extreme heat or dangerous implements while in a sling/carrier. Be aware of your child in the sling – take care when bending over and pay attention to any hazards your child may be exposed to when using back carries. When first using a sling/carrier, it is advisable to have another adult on hand until you feel confident in getting your child in and out of the sling by yourself. Stand over a soft surface and double-check in a mirror that you have put the sling/carrier on correctly. Big Mama Slings cannot be held liable for injuries caused by misuse of any sling/carrier we provide.

Legal

Every care has been taken to describe items as accurately as possible, however slight variations may occur with colour reproduction or text descriptions. Liability for any claim shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied. This does not affect your statutory rights. Big Mama Slings cannot be held liable for the content of any 3rd party links.
